Accessibility and the Web: Lessons Learned from Adding Accessibility to a Flutter Web App
Ensuring your Flutter web app is accessible is important and while the Flutter framework gives you a lot of accessibility for free, it doesn’t get you all the way there. Web apps are unique from mobile apps in several ways, particularly when it comes to accessibility. This talk goes beyond the basics of semantics. You will learn about the unique struggles I encountered while ensuring our web app was accessible and the solutions I found to work around the issues.
Rona Kilmer is a Senior Software Engineer at Ardley, where she builds with Flutter every day. Rona has been building websites and apps for over 20 years with various technologies. She started learning Flutter in 2018 when she cofounded Reddiyo, an endurance training platform built with Flutter.
Rona lives in Denver, Colorado where she enjoys hiking, biking, and generally all things outdoors.
