The FHIR® Specification is the global standard for exchanging healthcare data. If you plan to build something that integrates healthcare / FHIR® data in Android…you should use Google’s Open Health Stack. If you plan to build it for Flutter…you should use FHIR-FLI. FHIR-FLI (FHIR® with Flutter Library Integration, pronounced ‘firefly’) is a suite of pub.dev packages that focus on the various aspects of FHIR® integration. Our goal with FHIR-FLI is to create the foundation for the next generation of mobile healthcare applications.

This live-coding workshop will build a healthcare-focused Flutter app in real time.

Objectives:
- Basics of FHIR-FLI (SMART on FHIR launch, RESTful API calls, secure local storage, serialization / deserialization)
- Real-world use cases
- Implementation best practices specific to healthcare
- Secure connections to outside FHIR® Servers
